Dr. Md. Mohiuddin, a career civil servant, joined the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC), as Member on 24 August, 2025. Prior to this position, he performed as Secretary, Ministry of Social Welfare, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

Dr. Mohiuddin, joined the Bangladesh Civil Service (Administration) in 1993. Having an illustrious and colourful career of more than three decades, he brings with him a wide range of experience of holding various government positions.

In his distinguished civil service career, He carried out different positions of Senior Assistant Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Joint Secretary, Additional Secretary and Secretary for various Ministries/Divisions including the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment, Information and Broadcasting, Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, Religious Affairs, Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Social Welfare, Posts and Telecommunications Division, Financial Institutions Division and Finance Division under the Ministry of Finance. he held the positions of Assistant Commissioner and Magistrate, NDC, RDC and UNO in Field Administration.  He also served as Consul (Hajj), Bangladesh Hajj Mission, Makkah, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

By virtue of his appointment, he was Senate Member, University of Dhaka, Director, Board of Directors of Janata Bank PLC, Bangladesh Oceanographic Research Institute (BORI), Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB), Titash Gas Transmission and Distribution PLC, Sustainable and Renewable Energy Development Authority (SREDA), Startup Bangladesh Ltd, Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Foundation and Arannayk Foundation.

Dr. Mohiuddin, an alumnus of University of Chittagong obtained his PhD on Micro-Credit and Entrepreneurship Development: A Study of Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB), M. Com (First Class) and B. Com (Hons) (First Class) in Accounting from the Department of Accounting and Information Systems, University of Chittagong.

Dr. Mohiuddin, is also an alumnus of the Macquarie University, Australia and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand. He completed Professional Development Programme on Effective Governance for Sustainable Development from Macquarie University, Australia and International Training Programme on Advanced Public Sector Management for Effective Policy Implementation from Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand.

Dr. Mohiuddin, hails from Chattogram and was born in a respectable Muslim family on 5 August, 1966. He is the second son of Moulana Jalal Ahmed and Mosammat Umme Kulsum. He is happily married to Saera Jesmin. They are proud parents of a daughter and a son. Their daughter Abira Afnan, an alumnus of Bangladesh Air Force Academy (BAFA) is a Flying Officer of Bangladesh Air Force and son Adib Farhan is a student of Adamjee Cantonment College, Dhaka.
